Keeper of Peace

I’m like a daisy in a pond

nourished on all sides by an ever-flowing waterfall

feet rooted between the vegetation

unmoved neither by smallest algae nor the largest predatory

Troubled water silenced by peace, piece by piece

the air is densely saturated with the truth

the pollens on my skin are like an armor of righteousness

and faith is the music I swim to

I am like a plush bear on a playground

with one button eye, the other digesting inside a kid’s belly somewhere

still the smile on my face is in-erasable

when I think of the shield of the holy spirit i yield

you see this world outside is harsher still

like med school, it’s never easy

but we’re still fighting

because of a father who polishes my replaced button

and it is so, we’re still and waiting

praying for grace and strength with each waking breath

The prints we made yesterday guides into tomorrow

enlightening our journey into sanctuary of the keeper of peace

Pieces

Don’t you ever get weary of conjuring up chaos? of craving bits and pieces of Insanity? They have become as easy as the wishes that dwell in your thoughts.

it is the infallible thirst for peace that borrows a hole through your soul but life will happen regardless of what we choose;

No longer a stranger to failure for you have befriended the essence of cosmical madness

no longer threatened by the prophesies of imminent defeat.

The days of hiking down a steep hill, or swimming downstream, is expired

A little piece of you transforms into a gentle beast

a little piece of you floats with the wavy ocean that washes the faces of playing children.

Where did you go afterwards?

it takes a while to turn an orchid into marigold and a while longer to ignore the smell of your burning flesh.

And then the flames engulf your soothed skin and spits out a colour similar to lavender.

Like a thirst that could never be quenched latching onto spirit, so are you addicted to madness and the differences in between.

You are now a spool of blue poetic thread weaving itself around a brave zestful smile

You’d only just learnt that you are a soul that receives a body, and that forever and yesterday are one and the same.

Now that you have made peace with the turmoils brewing within you, what piece of you is willing to be shattered next?

The Hour Peace Vanished

It is already six O’clock. The river flows along the winding path like a slithering serpent guarded on either sides by twin mountains. It’s ebbing waves splashes against rocks like a mathyr throwing himself at the mercy of his convictors. It then flows through the crevices and penetrates the ground layer of the earth. This is where the stillness of peace lies, this is where our source of vitality vacates.

The is the beginning of the journey to the ever flowing spring of life but it is also the end.

Buried under the ground layer are sediments of red clay clumped together in scrambled forms, yet fossils of decayed hope are just a layer below. That hope represented you and I, before we melted together into thick goo and formed a viscous path like magma scourging through naturally existing elements.

1…2…3…4….5…6. Did I say 6? it will be six more before the church-bell announces a minute past 6.

And how could we forget the volcano that cleared a thick forest so that it could conquer every breathing critter. It threatens to heave it’s rage and stir up an imbalanced velocity — a rotary malefic wave-form floating adrift. Nevertheless, the wind kissed its knots and soothed its ego, but a day came where she could pretend no more.

Dong. Dong. Dong. Dong. The church-bell went off like peace was shredded in a time machine, traipsing in rebellion to uncertain extinction.

The volcano bellowed and shot magma as if to challenge the wind and curse the ground. She set the forest ablaze for she envied her raw thickness and beauty. She rained larva like dainty soft snow flakes free falling on the Alpine.

Who has the power to redeem balance? to rat out the volcano on the full moon for it’s incandesce nostalgic traps. Alas when the charade is over, the entropy of the Volcanic magma settles into an unorganised pile of pebbles, Glistening at the bottom of the sea like the snake’s eggs. they’ve become the fixed currency of our disrupted peace.

Five…Six. Everything is still again like a defiant witch that is condemned to the stakes to be disassembled into ashes and dispersed into the winding river. Gone like they never were.

The Triad of success

It’s funny.

While growing up, we questioned everything about ourselves, and when we are successful in school or life generally, we attributed it to luck, butas I  evolve, I’m realising that life has got nothing to do with luck and everything to do with peace, wisdom and gratitude.

Wisdom because its’s essential to know what’s good for us and what could potentially  kill one. In this, there are:  i) Human Wisdom ii) Godly wisdom

Everything man ever invented is associated with the logic of Human wisdom.

God’s wisdom is illogical, but limitless. It cannot be confined to books, or study materials or hypothesis.  It exists without hours of studying and to those who selflessly ask God for it. His wisdom cannot be questioned.

There are layers to God’s wisdom that overlaps with peace, because knowing when to act is crucial for success (Ecclesiastic 3: 1-8) . If the timing of a purpose is flawed then there is certainly no peace and everyone strives to be in that space where they can live a peaceful life, ergo a purposeful one.

Gratitude from my experience has a lot to do with an individual’s character. One must be diligent and  humble enough to understand that there is more to life outside of their control.

Before Saul was arrested by Jesus he was a successful man. That goes to show that many powerful forces are working in the world. In fact, depending on society’s definition of success, we might say he was less successful as Paul

A lot of unbelievers  will be tremendously successful. And if believers compare theirselves to them, it may be distraugting, but in that we must remember this triad which sets us apart. The Bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, therefore you already made the steps to acquire Godly wisdom

It is essential therefore for us to continue in that road that exults his name. Our success will mean that we are neither lacking spiritually or physically and therefore we are completely at peace within us and with the world.

Stella

In time, we will be nothing but a speck of dust, Buried in the ground, for others to tread upon Leaving a footprint that’ll haunt the living The beauty of life is that print we leave.

Father, Transform her from dust to dove. Release her into the wind. She’ll soar gracefully, through the valley of death

Transform her from dove to angel Heaven has no windows, yet she sees God, As clearly as a neonate opens their eyes for the first time to behold her parent. And she will know peace like never before —the kind the world she left behind could only imagine.

Dearest Stella.
